Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.49 posted 9/4

What bothers me the most is the hypocrisy. Did she go to Lilly because she genuinely wanted advice, or because she just wanted her to say what she wanted to hear? However rough and poorly worded Lilly's statement was, Hanako's reaction to it only served to prove a point. She chose to confide in some...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Whiskey, Saki, ...)

Even outside of the context of any continuity, I thought this particular story held up pretty nicely. Hisao's role as a teacher was played up nicely, and the tangential connection to Saki was just enough to make things work. Sometimes it's the little things that we do that count. I stand by the sent...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.49 posted 9/4

On a more serious note (though I do stand by my prediction :P), this chapter really seems to throw things out of Hanako's favor. To think that I was complaining about Emi last chapter, only for Hanako to be so petulant this time around. There is a lot of deep-seated paranoia within her, and her appa...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Classroom Game)

I guess I am just more used to it being "guy" talk. That being based on personal experience of course. It's not a topic I've had the pleasure of having two cute girls interrogate me about... I still maintain that it's not a question Misha or Shizune would ask (but perhaps Miki, ironically ...

*looks down at his favorite route list and sees that he pretty much proves Guest Poster's point* Well, at least in the context of this story, I am somewhat fed up with the way Emi is acting. I feel like commenting on it more would be a little redundant, since I'm never sure of how far these breakthr...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Classroom Game)

I was nodding my head up until Misha asked the Question. It didn't particularly strike me as something that Misha (or Shizune for that matter) would ask, especially in the middle of class. I liked how Miki flipped the bird with her missing hand, though. Misha's reaction, perhaps even more so. (IIRC,...

Re: Seven Hours (UPDATED: 8/27)

Without the proper context, there's not much I can really think of to justify the Hanran's existence. The dispute it would take for such a powerful military force to emerge in the middle of their own country would have to be massive in scale for it to escalate to this. Unless you were serious about ...

Re: Seven Hours (UPDATED: 8/26)

Flood, insurrection, rebellion, etcetera...

It's a tad silly, but I guess leaving it in Japanese lets it mean "all of the above."

Re: Seven Hours (UPDATED: 8/26)

So... Hokkaido and Lilly apparently are apparently blown to hell by what I presume to be some kind of Japanese rebels? Not really sure what to say about that.

I can only wonder how much the Japanese government would have to suck for there to be an insurrection.

Re: Hanako's (Not so) Epic Quest

Magnifico.

I love how it all comes together with that final line. I thought it made sense just for her to be experiencing this during an ordinary adventure in the city, but this must be a first for her.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Starbursts)

I don't know why, but I just didn't pick up all that much chemistry between Miyagi and Mutou. Even in her own thoughts, her feelings for him strike me as more of an infatuation than anything. What did she find to be Mutou's desirable qualities? Asides from his brain, I mean; science talk apparently ...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.48 posted 8/1

Ah, so it was Emi after all! Well, I guess it was only half as obvious as you intended. Or perhaps I am just twice as dense. Ah, well. Onward! I'm glad that Emi took the whole situation pretty well... or at least, as well as one probably could in that kind of awkward situation. Better than Hanako wi...
