Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
I'm quite attached to the idea of exploring mental disorders to the same extent that KS explored physical ones. I want to portray the people who hold those disorders in a sympathetic light without inspiring pity; just like the physically disabled, they are human beings who are capable of great ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
I am adamant about two things for this project; we should not touch rape, and we should not touch retardation. Male writers and rape just don't mix. No matter how sensitively you treat it, some will get up in arms over the very THOUGHT that you, as a man, could successfully write about the mental ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
I think that both an episodic approach and the harem approach have their merits and demerits, and in the end I would enjoy writing for either type. The one thing that stands out for me in KS' take on the harem approach, however, is that I formed a sort of emotional bond with the school itself ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
If it were my call, I'd have the setting be a psychiatric hospital that specializes in providing young, troubled individuals with long-term care. Due to the fact that many of its patients ended up missing school due to being institutionalized, an education program is gradually phased in until the ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
The ideas I posted are in no way "firm", and I wouldn't shed a tear if any of them don't end up in the finished product. I mainly said what I said about inborn/socially bestowed disorders because those cases are far more common than disorders brought on by accidents, and I feel that those ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
Alright, I'm back. I apologize for the time lag - most of my posts in this thread were written on break at my workplace, but now that I'm home I can give you fine people the attention you deserve. ;D My ideas about the girls and their disabilities are quite limited at this point... Partly because I ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
Sociopathy/psychopathy is out, because both variations of this disorder involve having little/no feeling toward others. A relationship may be possible with such a person, but your feelings could never be reciprocated... And in a game based around generating feelings in the player, that's a bad combo ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
The response to this idea is far better than I'd hoped, and I would like to thank everyone who has posted so far. I welcome any and all content having to do with everyone's own VN ideas in this thread. Don't be shy! As far as making this game a reality, though, I have to say I'm torn. I believe in ...

Re: Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
Writing a character with "mental disability" would be MUCH harder than you thought. And to associate with as well. In fact, what kind of "mental disability" that the date-able character can have? I think if it is way too far out from the "normal" thought processes the game could feel very surreal ...

Would you play a "mental disability" VN similar to KS?
EDIT: THIS IDEA IS NOW A FULLY-FLEDGED PROJECT! You can find us at: http://mentarushoujo.forumotions.com/ We are currently not accepting any more writers or programmers, but that may change at some time in the future. Yes, yes; it could be argued that a few of the current KS cast members already ...

What you learned (and re-learned) from this game:
This thread is for revealing what KS taught you, and what it "re-taught" you. By re-taught I mean that KS included something you already knew, but added a new layer of significance or understanding to that knowledge. Learned Visual novels can exert life-changing emotional power on those who play ...

Re: Lilly's Frustration (SPOILERS)
This is actually my favourite scene in Lilly's route. Finally she shows some humanity instead of playing the usual super-polite automaton. While her outburst freaked me out at first, I came out of the scene liking her much more as a character; it shows that despite her great inner strength and ...
