Re: KS: The Fighting Game

Oh, by the by, I think one of the "devs" claimed that the concept for the various fighting style of each girl had already been established, can we get some appetizer of what we're gonna see? And no I am not talking about roles, I'm just thinking of their possible supers and specials. Yes, we have ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

After thinking it over I decided I want to make fighting game but in a slightly different. Way. To save time on drawing the frames, I think it's best to go 3D, with jmonkeyengine and some lowpoly cel shaded models (to keep the requitements low, so even old PC's can play it). I'll start a different ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

ObliviousKnowlegde, you guys already have the game itself partially programmed? I didnt' see anywhere I could see/get the code, so I just jumped in and started something myself, but if you gyus are already busy, I'd rather try to help you out in stead, if that's still possible. Yes we are already ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

ObliviousKnowledge, you're right, but I'll need help with windows since I ony use Linux I'm afraid. I dont' even have any Windows computers. Feel free to fork me on github and send me patches, whatever you can, or please make the jar file for windows if you can! Oh, and another thing we need a lot ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

Well, action speaks louder than words I guess. So I took Slick, Java, and Eclipse, and some artwork from here and there, and started to program a bit. Expect to be underwhelmed, but it's here: https://github.com/beoran/ksf I guess it won't be useful if you're not a programmer., but if you're ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

These are actually good ideas, imo. Of course though, I'd really love it to have that retro feel with cutscenes being basically two-three still pictures describing the story with the only aid of the musical introduction :3c You know, like old school arcades where they'd tell the main plot in like a ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

ok, figured i should get some input from yall. We are thinking of including a decent story mode and have been discussing some ideas. Lets see some of your ideas on a scenario for the game. Remember, currently we are only going to have the 5 main girls as playable characters, so we cannot necessarily ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

I saw this... almost died laughing... then figured we should try and include a finishing move like that in the game... we will see.

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

I fully agree that you should use an open source engine, and I'm glad to see you've considered Paintown. I can see your dilemma: you'd either have to fork Paintown and get used to programming in python (pygame), or start afresh, but in a language you're more familiar with (I assume Java). I can see ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

Wow, looks to be a very fun humorous game already! Is there anything else you guys wanted people to talk about like more fighting styles for characters, game mechanics like meter/guard breaks/hyper combos, or (dare I say) need for a beta tester? As a huge fan of MVC3, SCV, SF4 AE and Third Strike ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

I could offer help with putting together endings and intros, but I would need the art assets and would be putting them together with Motion. I don't know if you can use video files with the fighting engine you are using so it may be of no help. I dont think that MUGEN can play videos... danny ...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game

Been quite a few posts. Nice. Oblivious, man you're like... overqualified. How fast you reckon you can pick up coding mugen characters? I did make a basic tutorial back in 2007, there's a remake in the works, since I didn't explain most things, only what's needed/what I understood. Now I understand ...
