for some reason the debian installer link won't work and I've tried imputing the prompts onto the ubuntu terminal and it still isn't working, what should i do? Someone else also just brought this to my attention. I missed this line sudo aptitude update Then retry the apt-get line. I'll update the ...

Not sure about the iPhone, but there's a package for Android that lets you run python scripts, someone could probably port KS pretty easily, provided SDL works (not sure if it does). http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/wiki/PythonAndroidAPI If you want to port KS to the iPad, Android, etc ...

I have updated the deb package to utilize a more proper installation for Ubuntu along with setting up an APT repository. See the updates in first post of this thread. I'll be leaving the repository up so long as it doesn't trash my bandwidth, which I do not expect to be a problem.

There is no reason for it.
Convenience. I personally find it more convenient to manage my software and menu through the package manager than to set it up by hand. And because I can.
