Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
I'm running F@H on an Asus N70S laptop, which has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an NVIDIA GT130M card. I would like to start using the GPU versions of F@H, but according to Speedfan running the GPU version raised the temperature of the GPU to 76 degrees Celsius. I know that in general the safe ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
It's been a while since I've posted here, but I just felt like sharing. I ended up getting myself recruited at fah-addict.net, so I thought I might share the first article I've written: http://en.fah-addict.net/news/news-0-141.php I went over several of the features behind AMD's 2011 desktop/server ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
As a general rule F@H developers tend to never give ANY ETA - which is the main reason I was so surprised to find that little post of the good doctor's - so your guess is as good as mine right now. Here's to hoping that no news is good news. *Raises Powerade into air* However SMP2 (Linux/mac first ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Karma bit me on the ass for that comment. Hey at least you have a reason. I wish I could claim advancing senility or something for forgetting to turn clients back on after rebooting machines. My grilfriend has long known how to thoroughly distract me from my computer. She sneaks up behind me and ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
This is the piece of a faq that originally got me into folding. Made me lol. Q: Are there any valid reasons not to fold? A: Yes, valid reasons are: * You are doing another medical research based distributed computing project. * You will never get Alzheimer's neither will your friends or relatives ...

Would this be a bad time to point out that we passed folding texas a while back?

This is just too damn cool, anyone who's interested in F@H advancements should give this forum a quick read - I don't want to spoil the surprise: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?p=119709#p119709

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
I've been folding on my PS3 by myself until I found out that Katawa Shoujo had a team. :D If I can't donate to Katawa Shoujo, then I can at least do this. That was actually my original reason for suggesting a team in the first place, and as an added perk instead of just throwing money at a disease ...

And there goes 8,000,000!!! As far as ATI OpenCL, any card in the HD 4xxx series and up, (not including IGP's probably) and they may include some degree of support for older cards, but 4xxx and 5xxx are guaranteed full Open CL support. http://developer.amd.com/gpu/ATIStreamSDKBetaProgram/Pages ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Their "OpenMM" is tentatively scheduled to reach version 1.0 in Jan. : http://en.fah-addict.net/news/news-0-74+news-on-the-protomol-and-gpu3-cores.php Being the pessimist that I am, I would expect them to take 6-8 months to build the client around it after completion - because I always assume worst ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Hooray for the TOP 500! We finally made it possible! @berserker: I'd wait for the DX11 craze, unless you have money. Apparently I at least have to wait long enough for TSMC to get it's head out of it's collective ass : http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20091030PD209.html I'm getting that card as soon ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
I've ordered a copy of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, and set newegg to auto-notify me the next time they get any Radeon HD 5850's in stock. Anyone else planning on taking a DX11 plunge? The new card will only be worth about the same PPD as my current one for now, but fairly soon (I predict in 6-8 ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Yesterday I got two GPU WU's that folded really slow - at least compared to other GPU WU's - but they were worth a whopping 1888 points each, so it didn't affect my PPD all that much. If anyone is interested, here is what seems to be the best website for current information on F@H developments and ...
