Re: Katawa Crash (FAQ, DL link, and to-do log first post)

The Katawa Points are a reference to the April Fools joke about having to pay real money for Katawa Points, which in turn would pay for certain choices to be selectable in KS, and to pay for extra routes and whatnot.

Re: Katawa Crash (FAQ, DL link, and to-do log first post)

I was just playing this embedded on a website and I'd like to find where my save data is kept so I can use it with an offline version. So anyone know where to look? I'm using Firefox if that makes a difference.

Re: Best Cinematics

I've only seen Rin's so far, but I think it'll be hard to beat that part when she's painting and then all those snakes or whatever they are just flare up around her like a weird acid trip. It just clicked with me, it worked on so many different levels in relation to her character.

Re: Imagined seiyuu cast for KS?

I can't imagine anyone but Maaya Sakamoto doing Rin's voice in Japanese. It's kind of boyish yet feminine at the same time. She can do very good deadpan stuff (as seen with Haruhi Fujioka in Ouran) and she can do emotional Chernobyl, as seen in parts of Ouran and also as Lal'c in Diebuster.

Re: Ask!

1. Why does Rin tie her shirt sleeves in knots rather than just doing something like stitching up the ends of a short-sleeved shirt? It always makes me feel like she's just become armless a moment ago and had to improvise. 2. Was it a conscious decision by her writer (or the team in general) to have ...

Re: Suggestions for Other Visual Novels?

Probably the most similar one to Katawa Shoujo that springs to mind is Crescendo . It portrays school life but not in the usual VN/anime way of "Oh onii-san, I made you a bentou with rabu!! ^___^" and the relationships and sex scenes feel a lot more realistic that average VN. Essentially, you get ...

Re: Rin's Path discussion *spoilers*

Just on a KS thread in /v/ and someone posted this. I thought you might like to listen to a grown man weep about his love for RIn. It's somewhere between tragic, hilarious, touching and slightly unnerving: "I Love You Rin Tezuka" If you're in here, bro, I hope you don't mind me posting it.

I know, I know. They seem to favour Kinect games these days, too.

Re: Now that Shizune's path is done...

I'm going for Rin first just because she pretty much is Katawa Shoujo to me. Then I'll probably try to leave Shizune till last to hammock my least favourite ones in the middle. Despite the ranking in my signature, I don't dislike any of the girls at all. It's like Idolm@ster; even your least ...

Re: Is this goodbye?

I'm actually having a hard time reading it sometimes. It's the classic case of waiting for the holiday to arrive is really exciting, but after a point, each day all you can think about is how you're going to have to go home soon, and everything you do just brings you closer to that moment. But after ...

Re: An Open Letter to the Devs of Katawa Shoujo

Yes, I third the sentiment. I haven't been following this game from the start, but over the years I have been following it, a lot has changed in my life. I feel like this is the bit where I say "And Katawa Shoujo was the only constant..." and then the screen starts wobbling and you get a montage ...

Re: Save game transfering?

Eventually found it. This is for Windows 7, but it's should be recognisably similar for other versions of Windows.

x:\Users\<Your Name>\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\katawashoujo_actual

x:\ is most likely c:\, but an admin can change it (like mine's on g:\).

Now if only Giant Bomb would cover it - and I can oddly imagine Edge magazine covering it too. Edit Oh wow, if you want some mild rage material, check out the comments for the game on its Play Force One page (the home of "sexy Flash games"!) that I just found by googling KS. http://playforceone.com ...
