Re: Random KS Discussion
I see Miki as the converse: able to hold multiple and imaginative orientations simultaneously. Whereas I see Miki as being basically lesbian - she's probably experimented with some of her guy friends, but ultimately decided that she just wasn't into guys that way - in my headcanon. (And, in my head...

Re: Random KS Discussion
Regarding the shipping and triangulation, there's also the matter of Lilly's name. Which, I'm still not sure what her actual orientation is. Before a certain chapter of dewelar's, I was pretty convinced that Lilly had the "homosexuality is a phase that people grow out of" mentality, and lo...

Re: Living With a Blindside... (Update: Chapter 5 8/27/14)
Also, it's not a bad idea to get several chapters ahead, if your writing style allows for it. That way, you can make sure events you set up in an early chapter don't screw things up in your later chapters, and rewrite earlier chapters as needed to fit where the story's going.

Re: Adaptive technology
Here, have one (that was actually listed in the related articles on that) that actually is functional, although certainly not pretty: http://makezine.com/2013/02/08/teen-creates-3d-printed-brain-powered-prosthetic-arm/ Then again, there's always using the Aimee Mullins approach to prosthetics, and c...

Re: Random KS Discussion
You know, that line actually contributes to my headcanon of where Kenji's family lives (combined with his family living somewhere remote enough to actually have land to build a fallout shelter and far from any military bases). I'm thinking extreme northern or eastern Hokkaido. It even fits with the ...

Re: Adaptive technology
Not so much adaptive as it's non-functional, but still... prosthetic arm made on a 3D printer.

(I just got a 3D printer, too, although mine can't do builds that large.)

Re: Feminine girls more popular than "strong grrrrls"
I'd just like to note that Akira's the KS character closest to my type. Hanako is someone that I can easily understand and empathize with, and I have to deal with some of the same problems that she does, especially with anxiety (nowhere near the same extent, though, in most cases). And, I'd venture ...

Re: Random KS Discussion
Consider threads like this a relief valve for posts that aren't really worthy of a thread, but are going to get made anyway, I'd say. That's how it works on other forums I'm on that have a "random discussion" thread.

Re: In What Order Did You Complete The Routes?
For Rin's, I wasn't invested in the story, so I simply followed the flowchart to get every scene and get my 100%. The bad endings happen in shorter playtime, so I did them first.
I really can't into Rin.

Re: Random KS Discussion
First year in a Japanese high school would be the same age as 10th grade in an American high school. (Working backwards, you turn 18 in both third year and 12th grade, usually. Second year and 11th grade, first year and 10th grade. Yes, there's other discrepancies here with age, because Lilly should...

Re: Random KS Discussion
And, that is a sign of one of two things. Hanako sucks at controlling her emotional reactions to things in public... but, unlike something like Lilly's confession , this was clearly planned on her part, and she was anxious about it (it wasn't a snap reaction, she had time to think about it, and was ...

Re: Random KS Discussion
For what it's worth, I wasn't talking about whether Hanako would be a good mother or not, but rather, whether she'd actually want to be one (especially with Hisao). And that, I'm not sure on... And, regarding Emi or Hanako having kids with Hisao... there's a difference between them dating Hisao (and...

Re: Random KS Discussion
I can't imagine Hanako being an overprotective parent either, given how much she hates being coddled herself. Although, I see Hanako as being rather hypocritical about the white knighting thing, myself, and other interpretations agree on that. Basically, I could see her being a helicopter parent ri...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Starbursts)
One issue I have with Starbursts is that Mutou seems more than just socially awkward (I mean, I'm at least that socially awkward, I can sympathize with that), but also rather... stupid, really. I mean, not knowing what a roofie is? And not even googling it before making an idiot of himself? I guess ...
