Re: I don't want to do Rin's route

In my opinion, Rin's route is the best route from a technical standpoint of making VNs. All the different choices give you different aspects of the story, and sometimes to piece the whole thing together you need to take multiple routes, even if those choices don't effect the ending. The plethora of ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Hello again everyone... I think the last time I was here was August of 2015, the last time I actually had *real* internet access for a while. Life's... well, not really better but it's not much worse for me either. I just thought I'd do a little update with my condition here... I'm not really sure ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

What do you have to lose? That is a good question. A hard one, too. I don't know. The only things that i can still lose are my Job, my Apartment and my Life. In that order. I don't have anything more to lose because i already lost it. Every little spark of hope in my head cries and screams "let me ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Penindes, I remember the first women I fell in love with. I'm married now, but yes I'm still a little in love with her, and I treasure that ember. There's a Janis Joplin song that goes "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose". It sounds like you've got nothing left to lose, right? So ...

Re: Are the pasts of the girls darker than they first seem?

In terms of Misha: There was a whole thread on this, the consensus is that no, she doesn't have Asperger's or anything like that. If you really want a darker past for her, you don't have to go any farther than Misha's rooftop confessional in SHizune's path, especially the part where she says that ...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

A few points: There is a thing called blindfold chess. Players play without a board, visualizing boards in their heads. Players that can do this are usually extremely good. So being able to beat a blind person in chess may be quite an accomplishment. Also, Hanako says she has only played chess ...

Re: Comforting Misha

Charade. And seriously, you're playing the game but don't want to play the game? to put it into perspective, i've played enough into the route to realize i do not like shizune in the slightest and by this point have lost all interest in seeing what else she is about. oved emi's route, so far lillys ...

Re: Currently replaying (Which order)

I think I'd do Rin's route last. You get a bazillion choices, and even though many of them do not change the ending, they all effect the story that gets told. So Rin is worth a replay-a-palooza by herself.

And Kenji says you're not manly enough for a picnic anyway. :D

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Unlike a lot of people, I don't think fire is a trigger for Hanako. (In general, anyway. Building fires might be a different story.) I do think stories in which someone gets orphaned are, especially if the death of the parents is depicted "on-screen,"as it were. I'd say small fires are okay, shit ...

Re: Rin and autism

Death of the Author isn't the supreme law of the land either, you know. Only mildly apropos, but one of my favorite GB Shaw stories: A young academic mailed Shaw a 20-page exegesis of one of his plays, with deep references and literary allusions. At the end of the letter the young academic asked ...

Re: Ask!

Adding to the trivia questions: It seems like the students at Yamaku are somewhat computer-challenged. Lilly, if I remember, mentions that she doesn't get along with computers very well. In Shizune's route, Hisao is helping with data entry and remarks on the poor excuse for a laptop he is working ...

Re: Random KS Discussion

I don't have a link handy, but cpl_crud wrote a short piece about The Fire. It happened on a winter's storm. Hanako's mother was working by candlelight; Hanako wanted a nightlite; she got one and her mother walked her back to bed, not noticing that she (the mom) had knocked over a candle onto ...

Re: The problem with Shizune

@$&*(@$%^&@($ I'm not finding the scene -- at least not immediately. I can remember the thing clearly. Hisao gets drafted to help the SC right after the festival, SHizune spells out the work while Shizune gets dinner, Hisao and Misha sort the receipts into piles, Shizune comes back and scatters the ...
