Re: After the Dream—Other Material (Rika completed 20140429)

I was hoping for a Mutou x Rika outcome ever since "Rika 3". I'm glad they found each other. (The age difference doesn't bother me at all. I know at least two couples who are farther apart in ages whose marriages have stood the test of time.)

Re: Irreversible

Can't please everyone, I guess. :p If you came up with something that pleased everyone, somebody would still complain. It's one of the rules of the internet. EDIT: On the fanfic itself, it does give some interesting commentary on the rather depressing turn of events that -- in this case, Hanako's -...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: The Decision)

My impression/remembrance of the Lilly good ending can be summed up in the old saying about assumptions. Hisao sorta ASSumed Lilly wanted to go to Scotland badly enough to sacrifice their budding relationship, and Lilly sorta ASSumed that Hisao didn't care enough about their budding relationship to ...

Re: After the Dream—Misha's Arc (Complete)

I fully approve of the Misha and Rin friendship ending -- especially a happy one with lots of parfaits!

Seriously, I've loved all the arcs -- but I think this is the best one.

Re: Post and discuss your writing software set-up!

When working on plain text documents -- such as the sort that gets posted here, I usually use ultraedit studio. I've done proofreading for others on a few occasions (and I am available to do more). Ultraedit has a really nice text comparison program is great for proofreading. I also have Microsoft O...

Re: After the Dream—Misha's Arc (Part 6 up 20140423)

For someone who claims not to have her own story, I find Misha's story to be the most interesting of the lot. Yes, it's bittersweet. Then again, so is chocolate -- so bittersweet is not all bad.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Shower Scenes)

This is one of the first KS fanfics I've read, and still one of my favorites. It's a nice relaxing piece that let's one enjoy a lighter take on Yamaku. That said, I did find this... "I'm not good saying the things that I feel I want to say when I think them. I thought maybe Japanese was a bad l...

Re: After the Dream—Rin's Arc (Part 4 up 20140402)

I'm loving the Rin arc, as bittersweet as it is. For that matter, I also loved the Hanako arc, although I didn't say anything in that thread. Why is there so much crying? Hisao is gone. Nothing’s going to bring him back. I’m not okay. I’m all wrong. But it feels good to sit without saying anything w...

PlayNemesis wrote:Note to self: When confronting Rin, always bring an Emi.
I think Emi's response would be something along the lines of, "You're expecting me to help you figure Rin out. Yeah, good luck with that."

BTW, I'm going to take everything I read today with enough grains of salt to kill a cow...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 37 up 3/

but at the cost of causing a misstep with Hanako and Lilly. We don't know if there is a special history between Hanako and Noriko, but I don't see either Hanako or Lilly as so shallow that they would fall out with Hisao just for being friendly with Noriko. I had intended to that statement to read ....

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 37 up 3/

For one thing, she's got the manic pixie dream girl vibe to her, and far worse than even Emi does, and the last thing Hisao needs is someone who he can follow without getting his own sense of direction. That's why the remaining 99% of me ends up not hoping that it will be a Noriko route. That said,...

Re: Yamaku Book Club

Again, a day late and a yen short to a discussion. Oh well. I liked Numbered Days overall, as while there are a number of fics that deal with the impacts of death and dying, this one few that approaches the question of what if you cannot die. (I seem to remember that, in the story, if Hisao delibera...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 37 up 3/

Well, that was certainly unexpected. I actually like how Noriko turned out there. I had kind of assumed that she'd be some malevolent monkey wrench in the grand scheme of things (for all I know she might turn out to be one anyway), but she was surprisingly and refreshingly straightforward here. Fun...

Re: After Graduation - A Shizune/Hisao story (post good rout

Given the way Hisao's parents were trolling Shizune and him, I have to question their ignorance. Then again, it could be that Hisao is the sort of person who's "good news is no news" with his parents. I've known a few people who were like that.

Followed by Yuuto at the open bar, wondering how Miki managed to convince him that she needed to be the Best Man. If he's wondering that, he needs to have his head examined. She's been an excellent wingman so far. (Also annoying, like any good bro should be. ) Tsundere. I lost it right there...
