Other love stories you read before Katawa Shoujo
I really like Katawa Shoujo. When I played it for the first time, I was surprised how much I liked it. However some of the more extreme reactions surprise me just as much. I understand that much of it comes down to general differences in temperament and that there inherent biases in a forum like ...

Re: A new KS fan..bit late to the party but..is there more?
I figure I'll eventually get over it and play through Rin,Emi,Shizune and Lily. Which I hear Lilys is heart-breaking and Hanakos tore me to bits lol I would definitely do that. You won't just get more of the same, but it will give more depth to all the characters, even including Hanako. All the ...

Re: Why have so many people taken Hanako's route first?
I think it also helps that you (at least seem to) get a pretty clear idea of what to expect from her route right from the start. With the other girls you get a first impression of their character, but at least I had no clear idea what to expect before the decision was made.

Re: Emi ending (spoilers for days)
I'm aware what nonsensical means. Meaning it makes no sense or it's ridiculous in nature. I'm pointing VERY harshly at the toolshed scene. I realize it's kind of a more "crazy fantasy" type of thing. But neither of them enjoyed it really due to it being awkward and painful for Emi. It was very ...

Re: Which ending do you consider to be the most canon?
I don't really think there is such a thing, but on a purely subjective level I think of my first playthrough has the slightest edge in terms of "what really happened".

Re: Is it just me?
I think those things are called "visual novels" because (especially in English) "novel" has become the default term for long prose. However I think that at least in the case of KS the individual routes are better viewed as novellas. Of course the whole thing is something else, but I would argue that ...

Re: Emi ending (spoilers for days)
To help someone overcome their greatest fears and demons and to see them improve and have them love you and all. It's essentially one of the most beautiful things in life. Actually. This is probably why i'm a HUUUUGEEE Hanako fan and not an emi fan. Um, isn't that pretty much what happens in Emi's ...

Re: Hanako (no spoilers)
Is it recommended to do skip mode since i've beaten the Hanako route already and don't want to see the useless things of seen orrrrr? If you want to play a different route, then you will have to make at least some different choices in Act 1 and parts will be different anyway. During the parts that ...

Re: Hanako (no spoilers)
Hanako is the best. Emi is my second favorite (ironically) The bouncy happy side of Emi is cute. And the dark mysterious side of Hanako is just far beyond it in my opinion. Not trusting those who don't know much about her. Alot of her makes me happy. Her sad side is a side im used to seeing due to ...

Re: Ask!
In your opinion, with which other art form does a Visual Novel have most in common from an author's perspective? From other things I have read here, I suspect that you didn't really approach it as a game. Do you think it had more in common with writing the other kind of novel, or on the level of an ...

Re: Waitaminute... Misha HAS to be bisexual.
To fuck someone who's on the wrong side of your orientation would require a lot of desperation. Getting back to what Spunky posted in the OP... how desperate would a straight man have to be to have sex with another man? I am not sure you can generalize it like that. It is not necessarily that ...

Re: Liking Shizune but not enjoying her route?
Or they just came for what was clearly the premise and were let down when what they saw wasn't what they were hoping for. It's one thing to experiment with a genre or conventions, but you can't always expect people to like it when it ends up being totally different than the reason they were ...

Playing her route I expected this to be a twist and I was somewhat surprised when it never came.

Re: Waitaminute... Misha HAS to be bisexual.
Besides Hivemind said the notion was ridiculous - which it absolutely is - so I don't really see any room for interpretation there. It is very easily possible that I have totally misjudged Hivemind's usual tone, but before this thread it had never crossed my mind that it was anything other than a ...

Re: KS2Android [WORKING Android "port"]
I presume you are talking to me. The fact that Delta pointed out like a million messages ago that this sort of work does not violate the license doesn't seem to stop a million messages being posted leaping to the devs' unneeded defense. That's kinda funny. Of course I read that. I am just not ...
