Wow that was really good.
I've been bullied myself, so I can relate a bit to this. Kids can be cruel and I'm glad they ended this the way they did.

Re: If Hanako's scars looked like this...
I keep confusing India for Indonesia and then all I can think of is this guy . And yeah, articles love to exaggerate for a point. Worst-case scenarios work best for that. I'd still say Hanako's case was more an issue of expanse rather than severity of the actual burns. Oh gosh, what happened to him ...

Does your favourite heroine reflect yourself?
For example, if you like Shizune maybe you're a competitive person and that makes her seem more fun. If your favourite is Hanako, maybe you've had a past trauma that makes her relate-able.
Those are just examples I thought of on the spot, but you get the idea.

Re: If Hanako's scars looked like this...
Most of them don't bother me, but as for the picture of the legs... I'm sorry, but if her body was that bad I just don't think I could see her in a sexual light. But as for the pictures that can be compared to Hanako's burns, I would see Hanako the same. I was kind of aware the burns weren't that ...

Re: KS forum in a nutshell?
Seems to be Katawa Shoujo, spam/off topic stuff, serious discussion, and having a good time.
The community does seem rather kind and open minded as well, which makes it easier to get into the forum.

Re: Do you have any disabled friends?
Everyone that uses glasses are disabled. Yes, disabled. I have miopia and wouldnt be able to function in society if I didnt had glasses. Yes, its that bad. Just to read this I would have to be like 15 cm from the screen. ANd there are millions of there with similar problems. Yet its weird that we ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club
My experience tells me that you shouldn't thinks about yourself too long. Find some books (or fanfic here), Chat with people or Lurk and interact with this thread, and don't worry about yourself or your past too much. You're probably right about that. My past was pretty bad and admittedly the ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club
My life has improved since then, but here's my story. I used to struggle with severe depression. I had very few friends, I felt there was no hope in the future, and most of my time was spent isolated in my room. This was mainly due to the fact that I simply didn't know how to interact with people ...

Re: Forgetting about the 'Katawa' part
I don't really forget about their disabilities, but as I've read the novel more and more they have become less obvious for me. For example Hanako's scars really caught my attention at first, but now that I'm used to them they're just an identifying feature just, like you said, the color of her hair ...

Re: Do you have any disabled friends?
Do you mean disabled as in "physically" or "mentally"? Physically the closest I can say is my cousin has asthma pretty badly. Mentally, no but I seriously think that sometimes with my friends  (all aboard the stupid ideas train) and as OtakuNinja said, welcome. We hope you like your stay ...

Do you have any disabled friends?
Part of what got me interested in Katawa Shoujo is a blind friend I have in real life. We've talked about her blindness before and it has shown me just how different the world is to her; for example, she can't even comprehend what colour is. So one day friend of mine was talking about Katawa Shoujo ...
