Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I took two weeks break after my charity run, my shin splint felt better but after a week of easing myself back in the pain came back.
I went to my general practitioner this morning and he's pretty sure it's a stress fracture, he's referred me to physiotherapy and naturally running has to end for a ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

17:40!!! I finished in 9th out of over 400 (although to be fair it was a charity fun run).

It wasn't exactly fun but it feels so damn good now. Also, free haircut.

I'll now be taking two weeks break or so to let my shin splint heal properly.

All the best everyone.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Race day tomorrow, it has all led up to this.

4.5K is no problem for me, I do almost twice that mon/wed/fri. Reaching my goal time of 20:00 is not going to be easy, however.
I managed 20:15 a month ago but at the cost of a shin splint, I haven't had the time to let it fully heal.
I've maintained ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Well first of all I've got to say...
I'm all ears.

In that case, I'd skip this relationship business and seek some major cosmetic surgery. I've never seen a guy made of ears but it can't be too pretty. :P
.. that almost made me choke.

But seriously, I have been on both sides of this kind of ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Yeah, young guys are like that. What can you do? I don't see a big deal in at least mentioning it though, particularly if any of them are into anime. I figure just being casual about it, and emphasizing that its free might be a good idea. Who knows, they might get bored and decide to have a look ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

the girl I introduced to KS.
whaaaa---

I was enjoying it so much I wanted to share it with someone. She is into anime and Japan in general so I suggested it to her.
She seemed to like it, she even played to 100% (yes, she had adult content on).

I personally would have found it much harder ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Thanks again Semisoft, you're a saint.

There is a gym/pool just round the corner from me, but I'm a bit hesitant to spend money preparing for a charity race.
I am getting exercise daily cycling to/from college. It's around 20 minutes each way and I push myself enough to raise my heartbeat and ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Yeah, pretty sure I have shin splint. Woopsies.

The timed run last Monday was fun but the day after I began getting an odd feeling in my left shin. Not painful, just a little odd.
With this in mind I decided against doing more runs per week but I still kept my normal schedule. In hindsight I ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

20:15 this morning! Pretty darn happy about that, although it wasn't exactly pretty.
My pacing was way off, lengths certainly sound like they could do me some good.
The one thing I found odd is that only my lungs hurt, my legs were fine and my heart wasn't going nuts.

Also no stiff ankles! I ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Hey sleeve,

not sure if i'm a little late here...

Very much appreciate the advice, haven't really had anyone to advise me as none of my friends/family are runners. I've got until the 17th of april to prepare.
I switched up my routine last week to 40 mins and have have been covering a 7.5k ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You and Harvey are doubtlessly right - hadn't really considered that. I'll look into a scale or something that measures body fat. Glad to hear about your progress, and good luck with your charity race; that free cut's as good as yours. :)

A skin fold caliper is definitely a good option for body ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Speaking of weight, I weighed myself yesterday only to discover I had gained back five pounds. :( That just will not do . I think it's probably due to reducing the number of km I run per week recently in order to free up some time for weight lifting and not aggravate my injuries too much. I guess ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

After 3 weeks my £10 running shoes have already packed up, giving me a couple of blisters while they were at it.
Luckily those 3 weeks of 5 AM starts has been enough to convince my parents (and myself :P) that this probably isn't just a phase, meaning I could spend a fair bit on a pair which will ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Hello Everyone!

I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to try to get myself in shape, which was actually just before starting KS. Initially I wanted to start exercise and diet, but the exercise part of it fell through at first. After I finished the Emi route I decided to start a morning ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I did my first strength workout on Saturday, still feel stiff from it but it's kind of satisfying.

Week 6 day 1 this morning, easier compared to last Friday but my stiff muscles didn't help matters.
Started extending my route as well so i can still fit in the 5 min walks for warm up/cool down. I ...
